Safety Upgrades

Our safety upgrade process includes:

1. Safety Risk Assessment

We begin by conducting a detailed onsite evaluation to identify hazards and assess risks associated with each machine. Using risk assessment tools, we document safety gaps and define performance levels needed to mitigate each risk.

2. Engineering Design & Controls Integration

Based on the assessment, our engineering team designs a custom safety solution. This may include:

  • Installation or retrofit of safety-rated components (e.g., light curtains, e-stop circuits, safety interlocks, area scanners)
  • Integration of safety PLCs or safety relays into your existing control system
  • Modifications to control panels and programming to support safe operation modes (e.g., jog, maintenance bypass, lockout/tagout

3. Panel Build & Installation

Our in-house UL 508A & UL 698A panel shop builds and wires any new or modified control panels required for the safety upgrade. Our technicians install all field devices and safety wiring on-site, ensuring neat, code-compliant work.

4. Testing & Validation

We perform functional safety testing to validate all safety circuits and interlocks. This includes:

  • Verifying fault detection and redundancy
  • Confirming safe stop functionality
  • Documenting safety performance level

5. Documentation & Training

We deliver updated electrical schematics, safety circuit diagrams, and reports for your records. Operator and maintenance staff receive hands-on training to ensure they understand the safety features and how to work safely with the upgraded equipment.
