As E’Mation Controls and Engineering continues to grow, we are opening a new sales division to further enhance the experience and support we strive to deliver to each of our clients.
As an integrator, we aim to deliver a comprehensive, solutions-based sales approach with our clients. Whether they require a full system implementation from concept through their first production run, or troubleshooting a single system fault, it is our goal to be the only call they have to make.
Position Summary:
This is a leadership role within E’Mation Controls and Engineering. Reporting directly to our Business Manager, the Automation Sales Manager will primarily be responsible for qualifying new clients, directing the overall sales process, and completing basic project management for closed sales. We strive to have our clients use a single point of contact, which ensures quick and concise communication for all parties involved.
Success in the position is reviewed monthly, quarterly, and yearly based on revenue and margin target performance.
The Automation Sales Manager will also be an active participant in all marketing and the on-boarding of staff for all departments. This individual is expected to have direct reports as they develop their client base. This role has a base salary with commission potential, and is expected to be Monday through Friday, from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Nights, weekends, and holidays are generally not worked. Travel is generally and almost entirely local to the greater Grand Rapids area.
Core Responsibilities:
- Develop new clients, maintain and grow existing clients
- Document and submit daily, weekly, and monthly performance logs
- Communicate and meet directly with clients, managers, and engineers regarding new bids, open bids and new and open projects
- Meet and exceed revenue and margin sales targets
- Ensure accuracy for both pricing and scope on all bids and orders
- Develop and utilize vendor and company relationships and resources
- Concept, implement, and track basic marketing campaigns
- Provide feedback during potential candidates hiring and on-boarding process
Basic Qualifying Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or equivalent experience
- Basic understanding of electrical schematics
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills
- Highly organized and detail orientated
- Ability to multitask and prioritize frequently shifting tasks
- Ability to lift up to 70lbs
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to operate a passenger vehicle
Preferred Previous Work Experience:
- Five years of industrial business to business sales, or equivalent
- Demonstrated continued success in services based sales
- Professional exposure to electrical engineering and industrial robots
- Successful role of at least two years in a position of leadership with direct reports
- Prior successful sales responsibilities focused on year over year revenue growth
- Sales positions in the greater Grand Rapids, Michigan area market
- Successful new client lead generation, resulting in bids and completed orders
- Direct interfacing with project managers
- Influence in marketing, both digital and traditional
